The Position
Our client is seeking to fill a Sr. Commercial Credit Analyst/Underwriter role in the greater Dallas, TX market. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing the financial conditions of individuals and businesses applying for commercial credit and making recommendations to the Chief Loan Officer/Loan Review Committee for approval. This position is primarily responsible for analyzing complex new loans and loan renewals.
The position offers a generous salary of up to $95K and a full benefits package. (This is not a remote position.)
Sr. Commercial Credit Analyst/Underwriter responsibilities include:
- Underwriting various types of commercial loans, with a focus on loans secured by commercial real estate. This include appraisal review, environmental review, as well as various financial analyses.
- Reviewing and approving various commercial loans and lines following the bank’s credit policy and corresponding banking laws and regulations.
- Monitoring the loan portfolio to evaluate the quality of commercial credit.
- Analyzing financial data from borrowers for new, renewal, and existing business loans, including financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, financial projections, business plans, and information from credit bureaus and other financial institutions.
- Analyzing and assigning appropriate risk rating to each borrower.
- Partnering with Commercial Lenders to gather relevant customer information for analysis, requesting additional information as needed.
- Preparing thorough, objective and accurate loan presentations, illustrating the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
- Financial analysis and preparation of loan presentation packets for new credit requests, renewals and annual reviews.
- Developing and recommending strategies on existing loans to meet the Bank’s credit standards and to minimize loss potential.

- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four or more years of related financial or business analyst experience.
- Strong critical thinking, organization, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills with an attention-to-detail focus.
- Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, meet strict timelines, and interact effectively at all levels.
- Proficiency in Windows PC environment and Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on Excel products.
