What Role You Will Play on Our Team The Global Insurance Advisor is a key member of the company's Risk Management & Insurance group, providing strategic insurance advisory and risk management support to the Corporation and its subsidiaries worldwide. This role partners closely with business units, affiliates, and joint ventures to design, implement, and oversee insurance solutions that align with the company's global risk management philosophy and governance standards.
Based in Houston, this role operates with a strong international orientation and broad exposure to global operations. The Global Insurance Advisor supports multiple lines of business over time, gaining deep insight into the company's risk profile, operating environments, and insurance programs. The role is designed to support long‑term professional development, with opportunities for expanded responsibility and leadership as experience and demonstrated performance grow. What You Will Do
- Advise and arrange insurance programs for U.S. and international affiliates and joint ventures, consistent with corporate risk management and insurance governance principles
- Support underwriting, claims, and operational activities for the company's wholly‑owned captive insurance company
- Negotiate, administer, and oversee relationships and contracts with insurance brokers and third‑party service providers
- Apply market knowledge and technical insurance expertise to optimize corporate and affiliate insurance programs
- Ensure insurance arrangements comply with local laws, regulations, contractual requirements, and internal controls
- Promote global best practices and continuous improvement across all insurance and risk management activities
- Provide guidance to affiliates on insurance structures, risk financing, and risk management principles
- Partner with business units on insurance claims strategy, resolution, and recoveries
- Develop, monitor, and steward key performance indicators and metrics related to areas of responsibility
• Bachelor's degree
• Professional insurance designation (e.g., CPCU, ACII, or similar )
• Demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards
Preferred Experience & Capabilities
• 5+ years of experience in commercial property and casualty insurance, preferably in a multinational or complex organization
• Strong organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail and follow‑through
• Ability to travel internationally up to 10%
• Collaborative, team‑oriented professional with strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills
• Demonstrated initiative, leadership potential, and sound judgment
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities
• Proven ability to work effectively across cultures, geographies, and business environments
