ABOUT CSM INDUSTRIAL
CSM Industrial is a Houston-based specialty contractor focused on heavy industrial siding and metal roofing for the Gulf Coast region. Our clients include power plants, refineries, LNG facilities, and petrochemical plants. We take pride in delivering complex, safety-critical projects on time and on budget. As we enter an exciting period of growth and leadership transition, we are building a strong administrative team to carry our operations forward.
THE OPPORTUNITYThis is a dual-mandate executive role: you will run a $25M industrial contracting business in one of the most active energy markets in North America, and simultaneously serve as a key member of the Global Wall Panel Group’s executive leadership team, contributing to platform strategy, shared best practices, and cross-divisional initiatives.
You will run the CSM business in Houston with full P&L authority while sitting at the table as a peer executive within Global Wall Panel Group’s leadership structure. This is a business unit president role with the backing of a $175M platform — rare for a $25M industrial market like Houston.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
P&L Ownership & Financial Leadership
• Assume full operational and financial accountability for CSM Industrial as a division of Global Roofing Group
• Own the P&L: drive revenue, manage project margins, control overhead, and deliver EBITDA targets to GLOBAL leadership
• Develop and execute annual operating plans including revenue targets, workforce planning, capex, and overhead budgets aligned to GLOBAL’s financial reporting requirements
• Present monthly financial results to the GLOBAL Wall Panel Group President with variance analysis and forward outlook
• Manage banking relationships, bonding capacity, major vendor agreements, and procurement decisions at the division level
Integration & Platform Contribution
• Lead CSM’s integration into the Global Roofing Group platform: systems, reporting, HR policies, safety standards, and operational processes
• Serve as a peer executive on GLOBAL’s leadership team, contributing to enterprise strategy alongside other division leaders
• Identify and share best practices between CSM and other GLOBAL divisions; adopt enterprise tools and processes where they accelerate CSM’s performance
• Support GLOBAL M&A activity as needed, including due diligence, integration planning, and operational assessment of acquisition targets
Business Development & Client Relationships
• Maintain and deepen CSM’s existing relationships with Gulf Coast energy owner-operators: refineries, power generators, LNG facilities, and petrochemical plants
• Represent CSM Industrial at the senior level for new project pursuits, contract negotiations, and strategic account development
• Identify and pursue geographic or service line expansion opportunities consistent with GLOBAL’s growth strategy for the division
• Leverage GLOBAL’s broader platform relationships and bonding capacity to pursue larger and more complex opportunities than CSM could access independently
Operations & Project Execution
• Oversee the full project delivery lifecycle — preconstruction through closeout — across all active CSM projects
• Hold the PM team accountable to schedule, budget, safety, and quality standards consistent with both CSM’s reputation and GLOBAL’s enterprise standards
• Champion safety culture at every level; ensure CSM’s zero-incident commitment is embedded and expanding as the business scales
• Monitor operational KPIs — job cost, WIP, schedule performance, change order management, subcontractor performance — and intervene decisively when needed
Team Leadership, Mentorship & Succession
• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of project managers, coordinators, field foremen, and administrative professionals
• Serve as the primary culture carrier during the ownership transition: preserve what makes CSM’s team exceptional while building the organizational capacity to support a $50M business
• Partner with the outgoing CEO during the knowledge transfer period to absorb client relationships, technical expertise, and institutional knowledge
• Build out the management bench as the business scales; identify and develop next-generation leaders within CSM
• Establish performance management practices, clear expectations, and accountability structures aligned with GLOBAL’s people standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 15+ years of progressive experience in industrial or specialty construction, with meaningful time in the Gulf Coast energy sector (refineries, LNG, power, petrochemical, or similar heavy industrial)
• Minimum 5–7 years of direct P&L leadership at the division, company, or business unit level with full accountability for revenue, margin, and overhead
• Demonstrated track record managing an annual project portfolio of $20M–$75M with consistent delivery on safety, quality, and financial targets
• Deep familiarity with the Houston industrial contracting market: owner-operators, procurement processes, labor market, subcontractor ecosystem, and competitive landscape
• Experience operating within or alongside a multi-division platform, PE-backed company, or strategic acquirer — comfortable with enterprise reporting, shared services, and corporate governance
• Strong financial acumen: fluent in job cost reporting, WIP scheduling, overhead P&Ls, and EBITDA-level financial management
• Proven track record developing, mentoring, and retaining craft and professional talent through periods of change
• Uncompromising personal commitment to safety leadership and zero-incident culture
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior experience in a founder succession or post-acquisition integration scenario: knows how to honor what was built while evolving the business for scale
• Existing senior-level relationships with Gulf Coast owner-operators at refineries, utilities, chemical plants, or LNG terminals
• Familiarity with craft labor dynamics in the Gulf Coast market, including both union and open-shop environments
• Experience participating in M&A diligence, post-acquisition integration, or multi-site platform leadership
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent field-to-executive career path fully considered
