Purchasing Coordinator - Austin
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to join our team at a growing residential home construction company. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and processing all day to day start production activity; including assisting the department in ensuring that all bids, take-offs, purchase orders, and starts are complete and accurate. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a solid understanding of construction materials and vendor relationships. Key responsibilities include reviewing change orders for accuracy, processing starts packs, issuing purchase orders, and answering vendor and construction manager inquiries. Experience in residential construction or a related field is preferred. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality homebuilder in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This job is located in Austin, TX and is in office.
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Process new home start packages in BRIX
- Ensure Trade Partners have necessary documentation to complete their duties
- Assist Purchasing Manager with identifying issues within Change Orders
- Assist Purchasing Manager with Brix data base entry and maintenance
- Assist in rebate identification, reporting, capture of related manufacturer rebates, model credits and local utility incentives
- Assist in processing variance purchase order requests daily from team
- Receive and process payroll issues accounts payable weekly as needed
- Code and submit invoices weekly for trades that are paid via invoices
- Be the primary point of contact for all vendor and construction manager inquiries
Requirements
- Bilingual English and Spanish speaking preferred
- Knowledge and experience with BRIX software system preferred.
- Experience with database input and reporting
- Intermediate level of experience in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel (requires input as well as creation of spreadsheets, to include mathematical formulas, some macros, formatting and creation of reports)
Education/ Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred; and one year of experience with a new home builder.
