Mud Engineer
Job Duties:Â
- Prepare the drilling fluids for drilling operations.Â
- Oversees the drilling fluid mud cleaning system's operation.Â
- Assists in the optimization of the flushing fluids, and cleaning equipment modes of operation.Â
- Recommends optimal operating modes for cleaning fluid stages.Â
- Recommends the replacement of drilling fluid to maintain drilling fluid system properties.Â
- Ensures compliance with labor discipline and technological and safety regulations.Â
- Minimizes waste associated with draining fluids.Â
- Works with drilling engineers and technicians to ensure a cost-effective drilling process.Â
- Prepares the correct amount of drilling fluids for drilling.Â
- Assists technicians during the drilling process.Â
- Assist in the selection of drill bits.Â
Required Qualifications:Â
- Knowledge of fluid systems, drilling fluids, and drilling bitsÂ
- Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations.Â
- Ability to create detailed mud logs.Â
- Knowledge of different drilling contaminants, additives, and mud treatment.Â
- Proficient understanding of waste management.Â
- Knowledge of various extraction techniques.Â
- Interpretational and cooperation skills.Â
- Strong communication skills.Â
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Â
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.Â
