Photometric Specialist
- Create photometric layouts and lighting calculations using industry software to support project proposals and specifications.
- Review project drawings, plans, and specifications to determine lighting requirements and performance criteria.
- Ensure lighting layouts meet energy codes, municipal requirements, and project performance standards.
- Collaborate with quotations, project management, and sales teams to support accurate project scope development.
- Recommend lighting products, fixture types, and layout strategies to optimize performance, cost, and constructability.
- Revise photometric layouts based on customer feedback, specification updates, or project revisions.
- Maintain organized documentation of layouts, calculations, and supporting design files.
- Assist in product substitutions and value engineering opportunities while maintaining lighting performance requirements.
- Communicate technical lighting information clearly to internal teams, customers, and manufacturers.
- Stay current on lighting technology advancements, energy code changes, and design best practices.
- Support project kickoff and design review meetings as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
- Experience creating photometric layouts using lighting design software such as AGi32, Visual, or similar programs preferred.
- Understanding of lighting fixture performance, spacing, mounting heights, and illumination standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, reflected ceiling plans, and project specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working within the electrical distribution or lighting industry preferred.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in lighting design, engineering, architecture, or related field preferred but not required.
- Equivalent industry experience may be considered.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
