Staff Accountant/Power Settlements Lead
About the Position:
Conduit Power, an independent power producer and leading provider of distributed power solutions, is on a path to supplement our nation’s power generation system with reliable and dispatchable generation in ways that reduces carbon footprint and accelerates the transition to clean, renewable energy.
We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant/Power Settlements Lead to join our dynamic team at Conduit Power. In this role, you will play an important part in maintaining financial integrity and providing strategic support within the finance department. Working closely with the Controller’s team, Market Operations team and other members of management, you will support various aspects of accounting, power settlements’ analysis, and their related financial reporting needs. This hybrid role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, familiarity with power trading settlements, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information.
Responsibilities include:
Accounting Operations:
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities such as full-cycle accounts payable processing, customer invoicing and accounts receivable, month-end close processes, and general ledger maintenance for multiple entities.
- Assist with development and optimization of Netsuite functionality to scale with Company’s needs and growth.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
- Help develop and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
- Additional duties as required.
Power Settlements Lead
- Establish a Back Office function using best practices to support settlement, invoicing and ERCOT regulatory reporting for Conduit’s developing Edge business.
- Analysis and settlement of short-term transactions in the ERCOT power market.
- Support execution of management initiatives and may include other activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 5+ years’ experience in general accounting.
- 3+ years’ experience with power settlements in ISO markets (ERCOT preferred).
- Highly proficient to expert-level knowledge/experience with ERP systems (Netsuite preferred).
- Proficient with settlements software (OATI preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
