Job Description:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Accounting Department ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, and managing the preparation of financial statements. This role involves supervising accounting staff. Managing month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting senior management with financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day of the Accounting Department, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure team productivity and growth.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
• Ensure the timely completion of month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting.
• Manage general ledger reconciliation, ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments and collections.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and industry best practices.
• Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring that all requested financial documentation and reports are provided in a timely manner.
• Lead or participate in special projects as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Require skills and abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational skills and time management, with close attention to detail.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and best practices.
• Knowledge of percentage of completion accounting preferred but not required.
• Previous experience with Vista, QuickBooks, or similar ERPs preferred.
• Strong understanding of Generally accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKIP < SUMIFs, etc.)
• Strong Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with team members and management.
• Great communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required.
• Certified Public Account (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of accounting or finance experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged period sitting at desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
