Property and Evidence Technician (Vehicle Impound Lot)

Duties
Essential Job Functions- Completes administrative duties by entering vehicle information into the computer; filling out and filing invoices; typing letters; running registrations; stuffing envelopes; placing ads in the newspaper; taking payments for impounds; maintaining daily cash flow sheet; and creating various documents.
- Processes vehicles for impound by verifying the vehicle identification number for each vehicle impounded; recording the license plates; and documenting any damage of the vehicle.
- Provides customer service by answering telephones; giving directions; and providing vehicle information, price and procedures for getting vehicles out of the pound.
- Assists with the auction by preparing property for monthly sale.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED.
- Candidates should have up to 1 year's general office experience.
- Previous experience in handling of evidence and property at a Police Department preferred.
- Working knowledge of telecommunications (NCIC, TCIC) is beneficial but not required.
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license required.
- Must be able to pass drug screen, polygraph, psychological and background investigation.
