Accounting Tech (Temporary)
Sparrow Company, an executive search and staffing firm, has an immediate opening for an Accounting Tech for one of our clients in El Paso, TX.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare worksheets and monthly standard journal entries.
- Data entry into Fundware.
- Issue receipts for money received from staff and/or clients.
- Prepare daily deposits and take deposits as necessary.
- Responsible for accessing, maintaining, and reconciling all Bank of America's activities as assigned.
- Stamp all paid invoices and supporting documents after each account payable run.
- File all financial, payroll, and account payable related reports.
- Retrieve and/or copy documents as requested by supervisors.
- Responsible for knowing where all Finance related forms and reports are maintained.
- Trained to perform payroll and account payable duties during the absence of the Accounting Tech IV or as directed by supervisors.
- Maintain audit schedules and worksheets as assigned.
- Assist in fiscal year end closing and assist outside auditors as required by supervisors.
- Maintain confidentiality for all financial and payroll related activities.
- Maintain CSEC binder with copies of check requests and update expenditure worksheet for quarterly billing.
- Responsible for maintaining office supplies to include ordering, distribution and charging of supplies.
- Responsible for the coordination and labeling of all accounting storage boxes that are taken to storage area
- Maintain, issue, and control keys to storage, dolly, vacuum, etc.
- Responsible for postage and Xerox machine during the absence of Executive Administrative Assistant.
- Relieve receptionist as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General accounting policies and procedures.
- The operation of a personal computer and related accounting software.
- General office practice and procedures;
- Be self-starter, plan and work independently without close supervision.
- Compose correspondence.
- Maintain effective working relationships with staff.
- Analyze fiscal data as related to general accounting duties.
- Type accurately.
- File.
- Proficiency in use of Excel and Word software and knowledge in use of other related office equipment.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Associate Degree in Accounting preferred with three years of accounting experience or high school diploma with a combination of training and five years of accounting experience; or a BA degree in Accounting with no accounting experience.
