Accounts Payable for Insurance Company

In your capacity as an Accounts Payable at Novatae Risk Group, LLC, you will take on a key position in our operations, primarily concentrating on Surplus Lines payables. Your crucial responsibility will be to guarantee rigorous compliance with surplus lines tax regulations and guidelines. This encompasses accurately and promptly submitting surplus lines tax forms, meticulously maintaining compliance records, and facilitating productive communication with regulatory authorities. This office role calls for acute attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance taxation.

• Work within the accounting operations team to improve processes by having a thorough understanding of all processes and then elicit requirements using document analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis.
• Refund analysis, Direct Bill, and reconciliation.
• Surplus Lines and Taxes support within the insurance industry.
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and abstract up from low-level.
• Utilize analytical tools to identify opportunities for cost savings / efficiency improvement.
• Support Business Units by investigating and resolving ad-hoc payment related inquiries.
• Primary contact for brokers, business partners, and external vendors to address policy discrepancies.
• Develop thorough understanding of Accounting Operations functions and make recommendations for process improvements.

• Proven experience (1+ years) in compliance positions within the insurance industry.
• In-depth understanding of insurance taxation and regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional focus on detail and organizational aptitude.
• Competency in industry-specific software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Capacity to work both independently and as a collaborative team contributor.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with surplus lines tax requirements specific to various states.
