Summary
This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT & will remain open until December 31, 2024 or until positions are filled . Eligible applications received will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care in outpatient clinic settings, inpatient units, cath lab, and operative care.
- Maintain professional competency, courtesy and flexibility and provide the necessary services of this specialty.
- Perform all aspects of Vascular Surgery within approved credentials and privileges.
- Participate in program planning, objectives, policies and standards essential to delivery of quality care.
- Participate in all aspects of the Vascular selection.
- Manage patient workload within available staffing, which may include support of mid-levels, student, and resident education.
- Appropriately documents own interventions and reviews appropriate health team documentation of patient treatment plans and involve the primary care provider when indicated to treat changes in the patient's condition.
- Recognizes complex situations that impact patient care and intervenes, using sound judgment, professional attitude and appropriate channels.
Physicians may be required to provide medical opinions, internal and external peer reviews. They must attend surgical and quarterly medical staff meetings, complete all required Talent Management System (TMS) documentation, and adhere to VA policies to ensure high-quality care for Veterans.

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship or eligible for appointment per VA policy
- All applicants must pass urinalysis, background/security checks, and pre-employment physical
- Participation in influenza vaccination program required
Qualifications
- MD or equivalent from an approved medical school
- Current, full, unrestricted medical license
- Completed residency in an accredited program leading to board eligibility
- Proficiency in English
Preferred Experience
- Board Certified
- 3+ years of vascular and endovascular surgery experience
- Experience teaching residents and fellows
Physical Requirements
Position may require long periods of physical activity including lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, standing, and visual acuity.
Education
Degree of MD or equivalent from an accredited school, verified by ECFMG for foreign graduates.
