Ophthalmology Technician with front desk experience

Annan Retina Eye Center is a practice in Houston, Texas now hiring an Ophthalmic technician with front desk experience.

An enthusiastic candidate needed to assist in the office work of an ophthalmology center.

The job will involve greeting the patients, acquiring medical/ ophthalmic history, perform basic ophthalmic measurements and photography, answer phone calls, answer patients' questions when needed, help daily administrative and general office duties include scheduling patient appointments, communicating with other medical facilities and insurance companies, scanning insurance documents and medical records and checking in and out patients.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Working up patients to be seen by Ophthalmologist

. FA/ICG testing, OCT, Biometry, Refraction

· Communicating with patients and relatives in person or on the telephone, scheduling appointments and addressing inquiries directly or referring to other staff.

· Comforts patients by addressing their concerns.

· Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.

· Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Helps market the new office by meeting local optometric offices and primary care doctors.

· Speaking Spanish

Qualifications and Skills

Excellent customer Service and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing, Multi-tasking, Flexibility, Adequate computer and telephone skills, Team work, Time management, Organization, Detail-orientation, Professionalism.

At least 1 year of Medical Office Reception and Ophthalmic technician experience required, some experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and/or Practice Management (PM) software system experience is preferred although adequate EMR/PM training specific to our practice will be provided.
