Position Description
The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate procurement of materials to support production schedules. This role involved coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize material flow and minimize shortages.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor material requirements and place purchase orders to meet productions schedules.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by analyzing demand forecasts and adjusting procurement plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any supply chain disruptions.
- Work closely with production, warehouse, and procurement teams to ensure material availability.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to material shortages or excess inventory.
- Update and maintain accurate records in the ERP/MRP system.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material planning efficiency.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, operations, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 1+ years of experience in material planning, supply chain, or procurement or strong internships/co-ops in related roles.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
