Small Animal Rotating Internship - Mission, KS
MVES and OPVES offers a rotating small animal internship with emphasis on internal medicine, surgery, critical care and emergency medicine, cardiology, oncology, anesthesiology and neurology. Our internship program is supported by specialists in internal medicine, surgery, critical care, cardiology, oncology, neurology and anesthesiology along with over 15 emergency doctors.
The program entails primary case management with specialist supervision, emergency case stabilization and management with support from an experienced ER doctor, and direct interaction with specialists for referral cases. Interns participate in weekly critical care rounds. Weekly surgery rounds are available and interns are encouraged to attend these as well. Interns will construct and present a one hour continuing education lecture on a topic of their choosing. Publication is encouraged but not required. Mission Veterinary Emergency and Specialty is a nearly 30 year old, well-established 24-hour critical care and referral hospital located in the central Kansas City metropolitan area.
