Paw Haven Animal Hospital in Hutto, TX, is a brand new, privately owned, full-service veterinary hospital opened in mid-July 2025. Our mission is to provide our animal patients quality medicine and care with integrity and compassion.

Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday to keep our focus on the family-work balance for our valued employees and to maintain a positive, friendly work environment.

We are looking for kind, trustworthy, organized, compassionate, and service-oriented candidates for the following position to join our animal care team:

Receptionist - *Experience is required* In the administrative role, you are the initial point of contact and first to interact with our pet owners. A consistent friendly voice on the telephone and welcoming and smiling face and clear communication skills are required for this vital role. We want to foster and consistently provide a warm, friendly, compassionate culture for our clients and their pets.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Answer and make telephone calls and/or use technology for communicating with clients
• Register and check-in animal patients using an electronic scheduling system
• Attention to detail when registering and/or updating client and animal patient information in electronic record system
• Close monitoring of electronic schedule to manage veterinarian and tech time
• Close monitoring of incoming information and patient records for upload
• Gather and confirm owner information for records and payment processing
• Process payments
• Schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments
• Encourage retail sales
• Prepare prescriptions for release and explain instructions
• Perform other administrative tasks as needed
• Maintain a clean and tidy front desk and waiting area
• Monitor exam rooms for readiness and guest bathroom for cleanliness

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous veterinary experience preferred (terminology, vaccines, exams, procedures)
• Experience with veterinary software a plus
• Customer service skills, including a consistent positive attitude and proactive approach
• Basic math skills, computer literacy, and excellent attention to detail are a must
• Comfortable working with animals and tending to grieving family
• Consistent positive attitude and to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment
• NO weekends required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
