Youth Project Director - Bilingual Preferred (Dallas)
The Youth Project Director provides strategic leadership and oversight for youth workforce development programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, funder requirements, and community needs. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing initiatives that prepare young people for academic achievement, career readiness, and long-term employment success. The Director oversees program operations, staff development, compliance, and performance outcomes while fostering strong partnerships with employers, educators, community organizations, and stakeholders. This position requires a results-driven leader who can balance vision with operational excellence to deliver high-quality, impactful services for youth participants.
Job Description
- Develop and implement program strategies to meet workforce development goals for youth.
- Ensure alignment with federal, state, and local workforce development policies and funding requirements.
- Lead program design, innovation, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Oversee daily operations, budgets, reporting, and contract compliance.
- Ensure adherence to performance standards, quality assurance, and data integrity.
- Manage program outcomes and implement corrective action plans when needed.
- Recruit, train, and supervise program staff, ensuring professional development and accountability.
- Foster a positive, mission-driven, and performance-oriented work culture.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and evaluation of staff performance.
- Build and maintain partnerships with employers, training providers, schools, and community organizations.
- Represent the organization in workforce boards, advisory committees, and community forums.
- Develop strategies to strengthen employer engagement and expand youth opportunities.
- Ensure programs provide career exploration, work readiness training, job placement, and supportive services.
- Promote equity, inclusion, and accessibility for diverse youth populations.
- Monitor participant progress and ensure delivery of wraparound supports to enhance success.
Qualifications
Successful candidates for this position should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with strong business development acumen and multi-tasking abilities to handle multiple and shifting priorities in this rewarding, yet critical role. Experience working in a performance-driven environment with contractually defined outcomes is a huge plus!
- Bachelor’s degree in Workforce Development, Education, Business Administration, Social Services, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in workforce development, youth services, or nonprofit program management.
- Knowledge of WIOA youth programs, workforce systems, and youth development best practices.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, contracts, and performance outcomes.
- Strong leadership, team management, and staff development skills.
- Excellent communication, partnership-building, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in data management systems and MS Office Suite.
