What will you do
The Lead Security Service Technician plays a pivotal role in managing and executing service operations for electronic life safety and security systems. This position is responsible for supervising field technicians, coordinating service schedules, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for mentoring teams and delivering high-quality service.
How you will do it
- Supervise and schedule daily activities of service technicians in collaboration with the Scheduler.
- Monitor service delivery to ensure alignment with branch revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction goals.
- Implement action plans to improve service efficiency and technician productivity.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key service clients, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships from initial contact through service completion.
- Address and resolve customer complaints related to service quality, scheduling, and billing.
- Provide hands-on support and guidance for troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance, fire protection, and cloud/server-based platforms.
- Train and mentor technicians on technical procedures, safety protocols, and CRM usage.
- Ensure all service work complies with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Enforce Johnson Controls’ Zero Harm safety policy across all service operations.
- Conduct safety audits and ensure all technicians are current on required safety training.
- Identify and report safety hazards and coordinate corrective actions with the Service Manager
- Participate in branch planning meetings and contribute to strategic initiatives.
What we look for
Required
- Associate degree or equivalent trade experience.
- 5–10 years of supervisory experience in security or life safety systems.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic security systems (intrusion, access control, CCTV, fire protection).
- Willingness to travel locally or regionally, including nights and weekends as needed.
Preferred
- Experience with low-voltage installations and troubleshooting.
- Manufacturer certifications in security or life safety technologies.
- Texas Fire Alarm License.
- NICET certification.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $27.40 - $34.62 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data.)
