TITLE: Retail Training and Development Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Läderach is responsible for identifying and assessing training needs, creating tailored training plans, and implementing various training methods to enhance employees' skills and performance. They monitor training program effectiveness, manage budgets, and stay updated on training trends. The Retail Training Manager provides accountability and transparency to training compliance by utilizing company-chosen LMS (learning management system) and e-learning platforms. This position will work with and report to the Director of Human Resources and Development.
GENERAL DUTIES
· Create, implement, and manage training curriculum, this includes assessing needs, course development, managing Onboarding Plans, facilitating classes, managing the LMS and communications.
· Support new locations by ensuring that employees are fully trained prior to opening.
· Oversee and manage online learning tools.
· Support Talent Management initiatives (development planning, management/leadership training, individual Hi Po development).
· Manage instructional design efforts/team (oversee development, review, and edit drafts, finalize, produce materials).
· Design, develop, and implement learning and development programs for all employees.
· Provide organization and direction for training plans and programs (including communication vehicles and supporting materials for organizational training curricula design and delivery).
· Assist in and develop objectives, course content, and learning activities using best practices in adult learning.
· Assist in and adapt instructional materials to varying audiences and formats.
· Produce written and/or eLearning based instructional materials.
· Develop and administer training skills assessments, and course evaluations as required.
· Tracks training completion and conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Retail Industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
- Ability to travel up to 30% as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Three to five years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs.
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Associate Professional in Training and Development (APTD) credential preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
