Vice President, Water & Wastewater Engineering
MUST HAVE:

● Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.

● Previous Vice President title (not required but preferred).
● Experience working in companies with a 35-50 employee size range.
● Additional certifications or advanced degrees relevant to engineering or project
management.
● Familiarity with Texas regulations and municipal engineering standards.
Role Overview
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as Vice President of
Water/Wastewater Engineering in our Austin, TX office. As a key member of the
executive leadership team, you will provide strategic direction and oversight for water
and wastewater projects throughout Central Texas. This includes serving major
municipal clients such as the City of Austin and other local agencies.
Responsibilities
● Strategic Leadership: Define and implement the vision and direction for the
Water/Wastewater Engineering division, driving growth, profitability, and innovation in
alignment with the firm's strategic goals.
● Technical Expertise: Act as the senior technical authority for water and wastewater
systems, including treatment plant evaluation and design, rehabilitation and expansion,
and master planning.
● Project Management: Oversee the technical and financial management of multiple,
concurrent projects involving W/WW pipelines, force mains, pump stations, lift stations,
treatment plants, water supply systems, and solids handling facilities. Develop project
sequencing, work breakdown structures, and ensure successful project delivery.
● Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities and
public agencies. Collaborate with sub-consultants and diverse project teams to achieve
client objectives.
● Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing group of engineers,
project managers, and support staff. Manage team performance and foster professional
growth to ensure top-quality project outcomes.
● Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best
practices. Implement quality control processes to maintain technical excellence and
client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
● Education & Credentials:
○ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (advanced degree
preferred).
○ Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
● Experience:
○ Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and projects.
○ Extensive hands-on experience in water and wastewater engineering, with expertise
in municipal projects.
○ Proven ability to manage project scope, schedules, and budgets.
○ Experience in water treatment plants, wastewater plants, pipeline projects, tunnels,
and related infrastructure.
○ Project resume showcasing relevant municipal projects is required.
● Client Engagement:
○ Strong client-facing and client engagement experience, with a proven track record of
fostering long-term relationships with municipalities and public agencies.
○ Experience with City of Austin projects is preferred.
● Technical Skills:
○ Demonstrated knowledge in water and wastewater systems design and
implementation.
○ Strong business acumen with experience identifying new business opportunities,
negotiating contracts, managing budgets, and steering financial performance.
