FT & PT Chef, Sherman.

The Sherman Hotel is hiring Chefs for both full time and part time positions. Pay rate $15.50-$20/hour depending on experience. Culinary skills: Chefs should have advanced knowledge of cooking techniques, flavors, and ingredients. They should also be able to create recipes from scratch. Leadership skills: Chefs should be able to motivate their staff and manage kitchen operations. They should also be able to communicate clearly with staff and diners. Business skills: Chefs should be able to budget for supplies, set prices, and manage workers. They should also understand cost and labor systems. Physical stamina: Chefs often work long shifts and may spend evenings on their feet. Sense of taste and smell: Chefs need to be able to inspect food quality and design meals that diners will enjoy. Time-management skills: Chefs should be able to ensure efficient meal preparation and service. Dexterity: Chefs need to be able to handle knives properly for cutting, chopping, and dicing. Education: Chefs should have a high school diploma or GED, and further education through culinary arts schools or similar programs. They may also need a culinary arts degree or equivalent professional qualification. Experience: Chefs should have practical experience in roles such as Sous Chef or Line Chef. They may also need experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant or hotel. Certifications: Chefs may need a food handler certificate or other relevant certification. Subject to reference check.
