The Medical Assistant at TLC Vascular plays a critical role in delivering efficient, high-quality clinical care and administrative support. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will work directly with vascular providers and clinical staff to ensure the seamless delivery of services and optimal patient experience.

Clinical Duties:

• Greet and room patients, take and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.

• Prepare patients for vascular procedures and assist with diagnostic testing (e.g., ABI, ultrasound prep).

• Assist physicians with in-office procedures, including sterile field preparation and post-procedure care.

• Perform EKGs, obtain blood samples (phlebotomy), and manage specimen collection as needed.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

• Monitor and restock medical supplies in exam and procedure rooms.

Administrative Duties:

• Schedule appointments, obtain prior authorizations, and verify insurance information as needed.

• Assist with patient intake forms and ensure accurate data entry.

• Handle incoming calls, patient messages, and assist with prescription refills under supervision.

• Coordinate patient education and provide post-visit instructions.

Compliance and Safety:

• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and OSHA safety protocols.

• Ensure proper infection control and cleaning procedures are followed in all clinical areas.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training as required.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

• Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) is a plus.

• CPR/BLS Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting; vascular, cardiology, or outpatient procedure clinic experience strongly preferred.

• Experience with electronic medical records (e.g., eClinicalWorks or similar system) preferred.

• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.

• Fast-paced outpatient clinical environment.

• Regular standing, walking, lifting, and use of medical equipment.

• May require occasional travel between clinic locations or to support mobile outreach programs.
