Regional Accountant

SUMMARY:

·Responsible for all accounting for each assigned region

·Responsible for month-end close and monthly reconciliation responsibilities

·Works with all levels of management and must have strong verbal and written communication skills

·Must accommodate to any organizations changes

·Will be challenged to take ownership over responsibilities and to seek, propose, and drive process improvements across its areas of responsibilities

·Must be an energetic person who can be innovative and flexible

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in the month-end close process by preparing recurring and non-recurring journal entries, analyzing account trends and running related monthly reports for the properties in the assigned region


• Prepare monthly GL/sub-ledger reconciliations and prepare monthly analytics (flux analysis)


• Serve as the point person for all assigned property matters


• Prepare financial statements and monthly reporting requirements for assigned properties


• Review P&L accounts for misclassified items and adjust as required


• Prepare month-end accrual entries


• Utilize technology to prepare and produce management reports


• Work closely with various teams in the company (finance, treasury, accounts payable, etc.) to ensure compliance


• Communicate effectively with corporate operations and marina property personnel to ensure transactions are recorded appropriately and in a timely manner


• Assist with process improvement initiatives


• Assist with preparing and reviewing internal and external audit requests


• Support group deliverables for management and compliance reporting requirements


• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education - Bachelor&rsquos Degree in Accounting or Finance required


• CPA or CPA Candidate is a plus


• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience


• Experience working for a publicly traded company or for a CPA firm required


• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook), US GAAP, Reconciliation background, auditing skills, ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts


• Experience with automated accounting programs and systems


• Must have experience multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment


• Knowledge of and experience with NetSuite and/or BlackLine a plus


• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills


• Self-starter with the ability to work independently


• Ability to learn quickly, produce results and work within tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and be a result driven individual who is a team player


• Must possess intellectual curiosity status quo will not suffice


• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines


• Exercises good judgement, takes ownership of the entire process and be proactive


• Willingness to suggest process improvements and share ideas for best practices


• Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material


• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and reviewing financial data
