Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer

If you are a Software Quality Assurance professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Round Rock, TX location, you will help drive continuous improvement throughout our development organization. The Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that software development processes and resulting work products are best in class and deliver maximum stakeholder value. The SQA Engineer role is preventative in nature and the successful candidate will collaborate with development teams to build-in quality throughout the development lifecycle.
IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
- Diagnose and address systemic process issues impacting software quality through metrics, defect analysis (e.g., defect leakage, clustering, root-cause analysis)
- Identify improvement opportunities through the review of development artifacts to foster relentless improvement
- Define and maintain world class software development processes through collaboration with department stakeholders
- Ensure process compliance through monitoring, training and mentoring team members
- Participate in retrospectives, collect global lessons learned and manage backlog of continuous improvement opportunities
- Lead customer and internal quality audits and resulting corrective actions

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- 5+ years' experience in a technology role
- Experience with process quality improvement and enforcing process adherence
- A passion for quality and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong ability to influence others
- Very strong analytical skills
- Must be able to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
- 2+ years' experience in process quality assurance
- Software development and test experience
- Experience developing software in an organization using the Scaled Agile Framework
- Experience in the development of control systems, avionics, or other near-real time information control systems
- Proficient in AzureDevOps, SharePoint and SQL
