Staff Accountant – Payroll

Monday – Friday | Full-Time

As we continue to restructure for growth, we are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to support our payroll and accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Payroll Responsibilities:

• Process weekly multi-state payroll accurately and in compliance with legal and policy requirements
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including tax setup, direct deposits, and deductions
• Reconcile payroll-related accounts and post journal entries
• Coordinate with HR on onboarding, PTO, and benefit deductions
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure proper documentation for audits and reporting
• Stay current on federal and state wage & hour laws

• Accounting Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare and post journal entries related to payroll and benefits
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and assist in maintaining the general ledger
• Support financial audits by preparing schedules and documentation
• Assist with financial reporting and analysis as requested

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in payroll and general accounting
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax reporting, and GAAP principles
• Experience with payroll platforms (e.g., ADP Workforce Now)
• Experience with NetSuite ERP
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to maintain confidentiality
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Experience:

• Experience using NetSuite ERP for accounting functions
• Familiarity with ADP payroll systems
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll requirements
• Background in manufacturing or packaging
