Summary

Seeking a Data Platform Engineer to support and enhance the organization's Azure-based data environment. This role will focus on SQL Server development, data integration, reporting, and cloud-based database administration while helping modernize data processes and improve business visibility through analytics. The ideal candidate combines strong SQL development skills with experience supporting Azure environments and working directly with business stakeholders.

Database Development & Data Integration

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases and supporting data structures.
• Build and support ETL processes that integrate data across business applications and enterprise systems.
• Develop stored procedures, views, functions, and complex queries to support reporting and operational needs.
• Design and maintain data models that support reporting, analytics, and business processes.
• Monitor and improve data quality, validation, and auditing processes.

Reporting & Analytics

• Develop and maintain operational reports and dashboards using Power BI and related reporting tools.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Support reporting initiatives that improve visibility into operational and business performance.

Azure & Platform Support

• Support Azure-hosted SQL environments, virtual machines, and related infrastructure.
• Assist with provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, and performance optimization of database systems.
• Support cloud-based automation and data movement initiatives where appropriate.

Database Administration

• Perform SQL Server maintenance, indexing, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• Troubleshoot database, integration, and reporting issues in production environments.
• Support backup, recovery, monitoring, and overall database health.

Data Governance & Security

• Implement data privacy, masking, and security best practices.
• Support compliance requirements and maintain appropriate controls for sensitive data.
• Ensure data integrity and reliability across systems.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of SQL Server database development experience.
• Advanced T-SQL skills including stored procedures, views, query tuning, and performance optimization.
• Experience developing and supporting ETL processes.
• Experience with Power BI, SSRS, or similar reporting platforms.
• Experience working within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Understanding of database design, data warehousing concepts, and data integration practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, or related Azure services.
• Exposure to cloud modernization initiatives and Azure SQL environments.
• Experience supporting healthcare or other regulated data environments.
• Understanding of HIPAA and data privacy requirements.
