Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to take hands-on ownership of development, configuration, and delivery across our Salesforce environments. This role is the primary developer on a complex, heavily customized Salesforce instance and is responsible for building solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned to business needs.
The Senior Salesforce Developer will partner with our Salesforce Architect and Product Owner to execute the platform roadmap. This role requires deep technical expertise in Apex and Lightning Web Components, strong judgment on architecture and system design, and the ability to work directly with stakeholders across multiple sales groups. The position is based in Houston, TX and follows a hybrid in-office and remote schedule.
Responsibilities
- Write, test, and maintain Apex classes, triggers, and batch jobs with attention to governor limits, order of execution, and system performance.
- Build and maintain Lightning Web Components (LWC) using wire methods, reactive properties, and Lightning Data Service.
- Identify and resolve performance issues including tightly coupled automation, record locking conflicts, and inefficient query patterns.
- Design and implement declarative automation using Flows, validation rules, and process logic.
- Manage source-driven development using Git and Salesforce DX (SFDX), including version control, branching, and sandbox-to-production deployment.
- Configure and maintain user security including permission sets, sharing rules, role hierarchy, and field-level security.
- Implement custom objects, fields, relationships, and page layouts to support evolving business requirements.
- Support integrations with external systems including ERP and operational platforms; maintain clean data and system boundaries.
- Enforce data quality and governance standards, including deduplication, intake processes, and validation compliance.
- Collaborate with the Salesforce Architect and Product Owner to prioritize and execute the platform roadmap.
- Communicate directly with sales leadership and end users to gather requirements, deliver solutions, and support adoption.
Requirements
- Platform Developer I certification required; Platform Developer II or Architect track credentials strongly preferred.
- 5-8 years of Salesforce development experience with hands-on Apex and LWC as primary skills.
- Deep understanding of governor limits, order of execution, bulkification, and performance tuning in complex orgs.
- Experience building LWC components using wire adapters, custom events, and Lightning App Builder.
- Proficient in source-driven development with Git and SFDX.
- Strong understanding of the Salesforce security model: profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and role hierarchy.
- Experience working in highly customized Salesforce environments with legacy automation and technical debt.
- Comfortable working in agile sprints and managing work through a backlog tool such as Azure DevOps.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with multiple stakeholders across business groups.
- Must be located in Houston, TX or willing to relocate. Hybrid in-office/remote schedule required.
Benefits
- Competitive pay commensurate with experience
- Matching 401(k) plan
- Vacation, Company Holidays, and Sick Days
- Flexible spending accounts / Health savings account
- Reimbursement plan for the company Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Policy
