The Opportunity As a dedicated Actuarial Support Analyst III, you will be supporting actuarial and loss reserving work through one or more of the following activities: data manipulation, validation, and analysis, system functionality oversight and integration, auditor interaction, and/or actuarial process and system improvements. Under direct supervision, you will perform routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.The Opportunity
What you'll do:
- Acquire and applies foundational knowledge of the business, its applications, and processes.
- Perform research and prepares and validates reports to support actuarial staff.
- Compile data and provides technical and analytical support for studies, projects, or reviews.
- Seek guidance from team members to resolve issues and to identify appropriate issues for escalation.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required (for a total of 6 years) may be substituted in lieu of a Degree.
- Up to 2 years relevant business and/or general analysis experience
- Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
- Foundational knowledge of relevant data analysis tools; Basic knowledge of relevant data extraction tools.
- Successful completion of a job-related assessment may be required.
What sets you apart:
- Knowledge and experience with Excel and at least one programming language or modeling software package (Python, SQL, R, SAS, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience aggregating and analyzing data to solve problems
- Demonstrated experience with problem-solving, innovation, and process improvement
- Ability to effectively communicate insights and solutions to broad audiences including actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders
- Personal lines experience
- Familiarity and experience with industry pricing software such as Earnix
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $48,890.00 - $87,600.00 .
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
