Accounting Assistant

Merit Coffee is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, full-time Accounting Associate who thrives on consistency, accuracy, and systems-driven work. This role is designed to sit between entry-level accounting support and senior accounting leadership, providing hands-on support across full-cycle accounting functions. Key Responsibilities: Support fullcycle accounting activities, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general ledger maintenance Prepare, review, and post journal entries with a clear understanding of downstream GL impact Perform and support reconciliations (bank, credit cards, subledgers, and GL accounts) Assist with monthend close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Maintain and validate GL coding accuracy across transactions and registers Support company credit card programs, including transaction review, coding, and reconciliations Assist with inventoryrelated accounting support as the company scales operations Monitor and respond to the company accounting email inbox, routing and resolving issues as appropriate Communicate professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders regarding invoices, payments, and account questions Support systemrelated work tied to the transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite, including data cleanup, validation, and process adherence Participate in special projects and other accounting duties as assigned Qualifications & Requirements: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent handson accounting experience 24 years of accounting experience with exposure to fullcycle accounting preferred Demonstrated experience working with general ledger accounts, journal entries, and reconciliations Experience with QuickBooks required; NetSuite experience strongly preferred, especially during or following a system transition Comfortable working in evolving systems and processdriven environments High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and followthrough Strong organizational, time management, and math skills Excellent problemsolving abilities Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills Proven professionalism, accountability, and reliability
