Shift:
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:45 PM, Monday–Friday (some Saturdays required)
Pay Rate:
$27–$28/hour (based on experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Machinist I to fabricate parts from ferrous and non-ferrous materials, including sheet metal, plate, and structural steel. This role requires safe and efficient operation of machinery while meeting company standards for productivity, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate parts according to specifications
- Program, edit, set up, and run CNC machines
- Assist in routine maintenance of equipment
- Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards are met
- Follow all safe work procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and confined space protocols
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Sales teams to resolve design or functionality issues
- Coordinate with Purchasing for material and tool procurement
- Support Supervisors in planning daily production flow
- Assist during customer visits and quality audits
- Help resolve quality-related issues
- Provide accurate time estimates for job completion
- Maintain strong teamwork and communication
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and gauges
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Proficiency with shop equipment including grinders, sanders, drill presses, band saws, presses, tumblers, and sand blasters
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good time management skills
- Ability to maintain production rates without sacrificing quality
- Focus on minimizing rework and material waste
- Willingness to support setup and operational tasks
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating tools, machines, or related equipment
- Previous CNC machinist experience (mill and lathe preferred)
- Must be able to program, set up, and edit CNC machines
- Must provide proof of High School Diploma or equivalent upon applying
- Proficient in reading blueprints and engineering drawings
- Experience with manufacturing methods and process improvement programs (preferred)
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs without assistance
- Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
- General hand tool knowledge
- Stable work history required
- Must pass background check and drug screening
