Plant/Equipment Maintenance Manager

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, mechanically skilled Plant / Equipment Maintenance Technician to support daily operations at our concrete plant. This is a hands-on, wide-ranging position responsible for preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and tool control across a diverse mix of equipment, vehicles, and plant systems.
This role requires someone who is comfortable working across many types of equipment and understands that uptime, safety, and organization directly impact production. The development, tracking, and upkeep of a complete preventative maintenance (PM) system and tool inventory system are primary functions of this position.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all on-site equipment, including but not limited to:
Concrete batch plant systems
Overhead cranes
Air and water lines
Overhead doors
SkyTraks / telehandlers
Forklifts
Skid steers and excavators
Passenger vehicles and commercial motor vehicles (CMVs)
Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections, ensuring compliance with DOT and company requirements
Manage vehicle registrations, inspection records, and maintenance documentation
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
Coordinate with outside vendors when specialized repairs are required
Develop, maintain, and update a computer-based preventative maintenance tracking system, including:
PM schedules and service intervals
Repair histories and inspection records
Accurate, up-to-date equipment status
Manage shop tools and maintenance equipment, including:
Maintaining a complete tool inventory
Tracking tool usage through a checkout / return system
Ensuring tools are maintained, calibrated when required, and stored properly
Identifying missing, damaged, or worn tools and recommending replacements
Communicate equipment condition, downtime risks, and maintenance priorities to management
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop and plant maintenance area
Required Skills & Experience
Strong mechanical background with experience working on plant equipment, heavy equipment, and vehicles
Ability to troubleshoot across multiple equipment types and systems
Comfortable and reliable using a computer or tablet to track maintenance, inspections, and tool inventory (required)
Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently
Strong understanding of shop safety and lockout/tagout procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Mechanic, brake, or equipment-related certifications
Experience in a concrete plant, construction yard, or industrial maintenance environment
DOT inspection experience
