Department Coordinator II
- Benefits offered are subject to change and differ based on employment type Summary Responsible for daily coordination of: multifunctional business and administrative departmental support, administrative functions and responsibilities as established through departmental needs. Also responsible, for providing on-the-job training to all levels of support staff as needed. Salary: Depending on qualifications and experience Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform multifunctional business and administrative functions for assigned department.
- Respond to internal/external inquiries through answering telephone calls, e-mails or face-to-face communication.
- Reconcile and review accounts, P-cards, expense reports, etc. and compose summaries for management staff.
- Maintain interaction with vendors and City employees regarding various issues.
- Perform data entry, reconciliation of cash collection, and verification of payment/invoice authorizations.
- Analyze department accounting and budget records. Enter data for budget process.
- Implement plans and schedules to determine departmental objectives needing emphasis.
- Provide on-the-job training to lower level staff.
- Review and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Provide support with travel arrangements, P-card reporting, and expense report preparation for management.
- Utilize LINKO pretreatment software to keep track of industrial users documentation, due dates for Notices of Violation, chain of custody records, and response letters to Garland and the TCEQ.
- Coordinate the Rowlett and Duck Creek plant security, utilizing Continuum software.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
- 4 years related experience
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field
- 4-6 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, customer service and/or administrative support
- Intermediate knowledge of business practices and procedures
- Excellent skills in PC and systems applications
- Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to multitask and meet set deadlines
- Ability to adapt to various working environments
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
