Production Planner & Data Engineer
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy individual who combines production planning expertise with data analysis skills. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, ensuring production schedules align with business goals while using data to drive smarter decisions. You’ll work closely with production teams, engineers, and stakeholders to streamline operations, optimize resource allocation, and resolve bottlenecks—both through traditional planning methods and by building data tools that support real-time visibility. What You'll Do Develop and manage detailed production schedules for Powertrain products, new lines, and sub-assembly lines, coordinating resources to align with supply chain and operational goalsAssess production capacities and efficiencies using design specifications and operational performance dataIdentify and address capacity constraints, material risks, manufacturing challenges, production blockers, logistical issues, and inventory levels to meet demandDesign, build, and maintain data workflows for collecting, processing, and analyzing production metrics such as lead times, inventory, and bottlenecksGenerate dashboards and reports for real-time decision-making, leveraging data analytics to optimize processes and improve efficiencyManage projects and lead cross-functional teams across engineering and technical disciplinesImplement manufacturing planning systems, methodologies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new production linesCreate ramp-up plans for new Battery Pack and Drive Unit lines, ensuring timely launches for new products and vehicles like CybercabCommunicate weekly production plans and schedules to factory teams, managing changes and updates as neededUpdate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems based on build plans for variants, aligning demand with supply chain; monitor product flow, optimize output, and manage vehicle sequencing in General Assembly based on constraints What You'll Bring 3+ years of prior manufacturing experience in a similar position.Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines with strong follow-throughStrong analytical mindset with an ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insightsSkilled in managing projects and cross-functional teams with a broad range of engineering and technical disciplinesBroad experience with manufacturing and planning systems and methodologiesProficiency in SQL, Python, or similar tools; experience with data modeling, dashboard creation (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)Experience designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, and integrating systems to support real-time production analyticsComfort working in fast-paced environments and juggling multiple priorities Benefits
