Build. Lead. Transform.
Our client is seeking more than an Accounts Payable Supervisor—they are looking for a builder, a leader, and a change agent. This role is designed for someone who takes true ownership, thrives on creating structure, and is energized by the opportunity to elevate an AP function into a best-in-class operation.
This is your chance to step in, rebuild and strengthen the foundation, and lead a team toward operational excellence. The ideal candidate doesn’t wait to be directed; they drive progress, bring solutions, and push the function forward.
If you are passionate about making an impact, developing people, and building something meaningful, this role offers limitless opportunity to grow, influence, and shape the future.
Duties:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 3 AP Specialists, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration
- Build a strong, scalable team by developing talent, creating successors, and “leveling up” overall capability
- Promote a positive, purpose-driven environment where the team understands how their work impacts the bigger picture
- Take full ownership of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all processes
- Oversee full-cycle AP operations including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliations
- Establish and refine processes, controls, and workflows to build a strong, sustainable foundation for the future
- Identify inefficiencies and implement automation and process improvements to streamline operations
- Bring innovative ideas that enhance scalability, visibility, and performance
- Create structure where needed and continuously look for ways to improve how work gets done
- Partner closely with the Corporate Accounting team during month-end close, including accruals and reporting
- Serve as a key liaison with internal stakeholders and external vendors, ensuring clear, proactive communication
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to drive alignment and results
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements (including 1099 and SOX compliance)
- Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and AP reporting for leadership
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of Accounts Payable experience, with prior leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite highly preferred
- Industry experience in oil & gas or similar high-volume environments strongly preferred
- You naturally take charge, inspire others, and create accountability without needing to be pushed
- You thrive in environments where you can create structure, improve processes, and build for the future
- You move things forward—you don’t wait for direction
- You bring ideas, challenge the status quo, and seek better ways of operating
- You communicate clearly, confidently, and effectively across all levels
- You bring energy, optimism, and a solutions-oriented mindset
- You understand how a strong AP function contributes to a proud, high-performing organization
