As a member of company's IT Infrastructure team, it will be your responsibility to ensure the stability, usability, and security of Mr. Cooper's mission. The team is dynamic and striving to keep up with the latest technologies and trends. Terms like Cloud, Containers, Automation, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, Software Defined, and X as a Service are not uncommon. While these IT use cases and platforms are in our line of sight, we also have traditional infrastructure that needs to be maintained or transformed to meet the design models of the 21st Century. Role Overview An IT Infrastructure Engineer I plays an active role within the IT Infrastructure's Network Services Team. It involves working with multiple infrastructure and business teams to ensure the availability and stability of traditional on-premises and cloud networks. Much of an IT Infrastructure Engineer I's time is spent working on project related work, specifically with the DevOps teams supporting the migration of applications to multiple cloud providers; however, the role includes being on call, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and working with other infrastructure team members to coordinate and implement changes. Roles and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities include performing project-based engineering and troubleshooting of network specific Infrastructure.
- Provide technical leadership from a development perspective for other members of the Network Services team.
- Develop comprehensive graphical and text-based design documentation, and effectively manage the implementation process from design to customer acceptance.
- Assist with creating SOPs, and other relevant information to assist other Engineering team members and Operations with log management and other monitoring analysis activities.
- Perform related or similar duties as required or assigned.
Required Skills / Knowledge - Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a concentration in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other Information Technology degree. Will consider the equivalent combination of job experience & education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this job
- Years of Experience: minimum of 2 years in a Systems Engineering level position.
- Working Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructures, including Google GCP, Azure, and AWS.
- Knowledge of RedHat Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD
- Working knowledge of automating tasks with scripting is preferred.
- Foundational networking knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Must be able to work well in a team as well as create sense of comradery with other departments and leadership within an organization.
Travel Requirements This position is based in Dallas, TX. The need to travel is minimal if at all (< 5% requirement outside of the DFW metroplex). Mr. Cooper Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
