Job Summary
W e are seeking experienced Manufacturing Production Supervisors to lead production teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supervising daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals are met, promoting a safe work environment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Description
- Supervise and lead a team of approximately 10–15 production employees.
- Coach, mentor, and train employees on manufacturing processes, quality standards, and company procedures.
- Monitor employee attendance and timekeeping.
- Conduct performance evaluations and career development discussions.
- Address employee concerns, resolve workplace conflicts, and maintain positive employee relations.
- Lead effectively within a union manufacturing environment.
- Monitor daily production activities to ensure schedules and operational goals are achieved.
- Ensure employees have the necessary equipment, documentation, prints, and work instructions to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate workflow to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Develop a working knowledge of manufacturing processes and products to assist with troubleshooting.
- Escalate production, quality, engineering, planning, supply chain, and operational issues to the appropriate departments.
- Support timely resolution of manufacturing challenges.
- Promote and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and manufacturing procedures.
- Monitor employee adherence to PPE requirements and safe work practices.
- Maintain a safe and organized production environment.
- Support manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with developing and maintaining manufacturing work instructions and procedures.
- Utilize Manufacturing System principles and continuous improvement tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Elastomer manufacturing operation producing a wide variety of products and part numbers.
- Mixed manufacturing environment with an emphasis on product variety rather than high-volume production.
- Production area includes more than 20 pieces of manufacturing equipment.
- Supervisors are not expected to operate equipment but will develop equipment knowledge through training and experience.
S kills Required
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
- Experience managing accountability and resolving employee conflicts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and general office applications).
Preferred qualifications
- Supervisory experience in a union manufacturing environment.
- SAP experience.
- Bachelor's degree with slightly less supervisory experience may be considered.
Education
- Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Pay Rate
- $39 - $42 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
Additional Details
- S h ift: First Shift: 4:00 AM - 2:00 PM
- Shift: Second Shift: 2:00 PM - Midnight
- Supervisors are required to work overtime as part of the role.
- Contractors are eligible for bonuses related to weekend coverage.
- Upon full-time conversion, supervisors are eligible for additional incentives/benefits.
