Construction Material Estimator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Construction Material Estimator  to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting construction documents, performing takeoffs, and preparing accurate material estimates and quotes for residential and commercial projects. Your insights will support our sales and operations teams in delivering accurate bids and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural plans, specifications, and project documentation to determine material requirements.
• Perform accurate takeoffs and estimates for bathroom hardware, door hardware, doors, and trim.
• Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals to customers.
• Collaborate with the sales and purchasing teams to ensure material availability and pricing accuracy.
• Maintain and update pricing databases and estimation tools.
• Assist in value engineering efforts and identify cost-saving opportunities for clients.
• Communicate with contractors, builders, and suppliers to clarify project requirements and timelines.
• Track project progress and update estimates as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in a distribution or supply environment.
• Strong knowledge of doors, trim, bathroom and door hardware components and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Proficiency with estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Construction, engineering, or related technical background preferred.
