Quality Control Vehicle & Automotive Technician
*Responsibilities:**
– Conduct thorough inspections of completed vehicles and automotive components to detect defects, imperfections, or deviations from quality standards.
– Perform visual assessments for both cosmetic and functional aspects, ensuring strict adherence to quality guidelines.
– Employ tools, equipment, and computer systems for quality control tests, including measuring devices, diagnostic equipment, and software.
– Accurately record and document all inspection results.
– Collaborate with team members and departments to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
– Aid in the development and maintenance of quality control processes and procedures.
– Identify the root causes of quality issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement preventive measures.
– Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations and guidelines.
– Contribute to the training of new team members in quality control procedures. – Participate in Quality Metrics to enhance Quality capabilities.
**Requirements:**
– High school diploma or equivalent.
– Proven experience as a QC Technician and process designer, preferably in the upfitter industry.
– Profound knowledge of automotive quality control standards and procedures.
– Familiarity with automotive components, systems, and specifications.
– Proficiency in using measurement and testing tools and equipment. – Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
– Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
– Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
– Proficient computer skills, including experience with quality control software and MS Office applications.
– Ability to adapt to changes in priorities and work effectively under pressure.
– Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as necessary.
– Valid driver’s license.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
– Certification in automotive quality control or related field.
– Previous experience working with both mechanical and automotive electronic sub-systems.
– Knowledge of ISO 9000 quality management systems.
**Additional Requirements:**
– Demonstrated experience in quality control process creation and implementation, including the establishment of automotive quality metrics.
– Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes, with experience in tracking metrics such as averages, rolling averages, and creating trend lines.
– Experience in developing quality feedback loops and providing training to team members on quality control procedures.
