Plant Care Technician (PHC) - Commercial
As a Plant Healthcare Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the health and sustainability of commercial landscapes. This position focuses on maintaining and improving plant health, including trees, shrubs, and turf, through proper nutrition, pest management, and proactive care. Working closely with the Agronomy Manager, you will implement plant health programs, conduct site assessments, apply treatments, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operate spray equipment using safe and proper techniques and procedures
- Manage daily work schedule with minimal supervision
- Perform cultural applications as needed (aerification, seeding, sand topdressing, etc.)
- Maintain knowledge of spray techniques and safe chemical application practices
- Operate sprayers, spreaders, and other landscape equipment (tractors, mowers, rototillers)
- Promote safety at all times by following PPE policies
- Ensure necessary materials and resources are stocked on the truck and available for the day
- Complete jobs on time while staying within budgeted production hours
- Report any damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment or safety concerns immediately
- Maintain accurate records of pesticide usage
- Evaluate job sites and recommend improvements or enhancements when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain and maintain a state pesticide applicator license within 12 months (preferred)
- Ability to diagnose common landscape insects and diseases in the field
- Experience mixing, preparing, and applying chemicals for weeds, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies in lawns, trees, and shrubs
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of Aspire preferred

Include external environment dealing with all weather and terrain exposure. Safety equipment includes, but is not limited to hard hats, gloves, earplugs, safety vest and safety glasses. This position requires the ability to work during inclement weather events.
