We are a dynamic 4-person team split between Poland and San Francisco, recently raising $4M from top-tier investors including Gradient Ventures, Lightspeed, The Legaltech Fund, Y Combinator, and Pear VC. We're in an exciting growth phase, planning to hire approximately 3 more team members in the next 6 months.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Founding Full-Stack Engineer to join our team at TruthSystems. As a founding member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in shaping our product, technology stack, and engineering culture. Tasks

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy full-stack web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices
• Ensure the scalability and performance of applications through optimization and testing
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our tech stack
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to resolve technical issues
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in front-end technologies (React, Vue.js, or Angular) and back-end technologies (Node.js, Python, Ruby, or Go)
• Database Experience: Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
• API Development: Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
• Version Control: Proficient with Git and modern development workflows
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
• Communication: Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Adaptability: Highly adaptable to new technologies and changing environments; quick learner
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, mentor team members, and lead technical projects from conception to completion
• Collaboration: Proven track record of working effectively across teams, contributing to a positive team dynamic, and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a startup or early-stage company environment
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of testing frameworks and test-driven development
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Experience with agile methodologies and collaborative coding practices
• Strong product taste and proven 0→1 experience building products from scratch
• Thrives in high-trust, high-ownership environments with minimal oversight
• Excited by autonomy and ambiguity; comfortable setting foundations without established processes
• Located in San Francisco (Europe or other US time zones considered)
• Entrepreneurial mindset with passion for building impactful products
• Embraces startup mentality; comfortable with startup pace and uncertainty

What to Expect in the Application Process

4. Screening Interview with our Partner: Qualified candidates will be invited to an initial screening interview with our Partner. This conversation will focus on your background, technical experience, and career goals (approximately 30-45 minutes). You may receive additional assessments
5. Interview with TruthSystems Founders Team: Successful candidates will move forward to interviews with the TruthSystems team. This may include multiple rounds covering technical expertise, cultural fit, and your approach to building products in a startup environment.
6. Final Interview: A final conversation with TruthSystems leadership to discuss the role in depth, answer any remaining questions, and ensure mutual alignment on expectations and goals.
7. Two Week Paid Trail : The Successful Candidate(s) will undergo a two week paid trail period.
8. Offer Stage: If selected, you'll receive a competitive offer including salary, equity, and benefits details. We'll support you to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
