Collaborating with federal, state, and local partners, you'll ensure the success of vital programs within our East Texas communities. As a Contract Support Specialist for the East Texas Council of Governments, you'll find exciting challenges from negotiating contracts for Workforce and Childcare services to facilitating procurement processes. Your role will be dynamic and diverse, from supporting the development of new service delivery models to conducting financial analysis for subrecipients. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field, along with a minimum of 2 years' experience in contract management and preferably 2 years' experience in a financial or program-related role within a governmental agency. East Texas Council of Governments is a voluntary association of counties, cities, school districts and special districts within the fourteen-county East Texas region. We assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit and coordinating for sound regional development. Either directly, or through our contractors, ETCOG provides programs and services for East Texas seniors, employers and job seekers. We also build the 9-1-1 emergency call delivery system, provide peace officer training and homeland security planning services; and deliver rural transportation services, business finance programs, grant writing services and environmental grant funding for the region.
