Primary Care Physician

NextCare Urgent Care San Antonio, TX (US Highway 281)

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our San Antonio US Highway 281 clinic. This role is ideal for an experienced provider who is comfortable practicing independently.

• Evaluate and treat urgent care patients in accordance with clinical best practices

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care aligned with NextCare s mission and values

• Independently manage patients in a solo-provider clinic setting

• Diagnose conditions and develop clear treatment plans

• Accurately document care in the electronic health record (EHR)

• Ensure appropriate coding and billing

• Maintain clinical productivity consistent with industry standards

• Full-time position

• Clinic hours:

  • Mon Fri: 8:00 AM 8:00 PM

  • Sat Sun: 9:00 AM 6:00 PM

• Providers typically work three 12-hour shifts per week

• Rotating weekends and holidays shared among the provider team

• Assigned a home clinic at US Highway 281

• Occasional floating to nearby NextCare clinics may be required (within reasonable driving distance)

• Active, unrestricted Texas medical license

• Active DEA registration

• NCCPA certification (PA) or ANCC/AANP certification (NP FNP required)

• Bachelor s degree in PA studies or Master s degree in Nursing

• Active BLS certification

• Comfortable treating patients of all ages

• Strong EHR proficiency

• 1+ year of urgent care experience strongly preferred

• Experience practicing independently, including X-ray interpretation and minor procedures

• DOT certification may be required (training provided if needed)
