Overview
We are a custom cabinet shop seeking a skilled cabinet finisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience with all aspects of finishing. They would be comfortable with different types of finishes including but not limited to conversion varnishes, water based and oil based.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for finishing by sanding, cleaning, and applying sealers or primers
- Apply Stains, paints or other finishes to cabinets and other custom items as required by job using various tools and techniques
- Finish crown, fillers, doors or any additional cabinetry pieces
- Mixing and calculating stain mixtures for proper stain matches
- Mixing catalys for conversion varnishes
- Cleaning machines after each use
- Inspecting sanded and finished products to ensure proper quality assurance
- Maintain a safe and clean working area adhering to all safety protocols.
Skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work alone as well as with a team as needed
- 5+ years cabinetry finishing experience
- Strong communication skills
