Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Network Visibility Platforms

Keysight is seeking an experienced software developer to work with our network visibility software team, helping to design and implement the next generation of network packet broker platforms.
ResponsibilitiesThe engineer in this position will be working to broaden the capabilities of the current generation of network packet broker platforms and help define the next generation. The candidate must be a highly productive developer with a good mix of software and teamwork skills, the ability to work within a cross-functional team of hardware and software developers, and the knowledge and expertise to find creative solutions to complex customer problems.
Duties will include:
- Developing diagnostic SW to support bringup, testing, and manufacturing of new network monitoring and security platforms
- Working closely with the hardware team during the design cycle to help guide design decisions that facilitate good test coverage
- Working alongside the HW team to bring up and test platforms using cutting-edge processor, switch, and FPGA technologies
- Working with the manufacturing test team to ensure smooth transitions from the prototype to production phases
- Participating in SW feature development for network monitoring and security applications
- Leading and participating in design and code reviews
This position requires strong software development and teamwork skills and a relevant industry background. The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Bachelor’s or master’s Degree with 8+ year’s relevant experience
- Strong C programming skills; assembly and Java programming skills are a plus
- Understanding of driver-level development for embedded systems
- Good knowledge of Ethernet and networking technologies
- Ideal candidate will have a BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Strong software debug skills and experience working on new hardware bring up and debug
- Familiarity with Agile software development
- Familiarity with cloud deployment tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, and gRPC
- Tools: Wireshark, debuggers, profilers
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
