Operations Manager/Associate
About the Role: The Operations Manager for College HUNKS Moving plays a pivotal role in driving daily operations, performance, and team culture at the local franchise level. This positon focuses on overseeing daily & weekly operations and ensuring effective scheduling, customer satisfaction and profitability. The role requires a professional individual with a growth mindset who can manage various aspects of the business, including customer interactions, sales, scheduling, and budgeting. This individual is not just a manager but a leader, coach, and culture champion- responsible for building a high-performing team and creating an environment where people are empowered to grow and succeed.
Key Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
Leadership & Team Building
- Recruit, train, mentor, and retain team members who align with our mission and values
- Foster a fun, safe, and high-energy work environment where individuals feel valued and challenged to grow
- Lead regular team meetings, performance reviews, and technical trainings
- Model leadership behaviors that inspire others to take initiative and embody our core values
- Act as a culture driver, ensuring consistent alignment with our brand promise, internal development goals, and community engagement
Operations
- Oversee and refine daily workflows and systems that drive team efficiency and client satisfaction
- Conduct welcome and confirmation calls to clients
- Investigate and resolve customer concerns with professionalism and urgency
- Manage moving labor and staffing to hit company goals
- Oversee crew scheduling, input daily metrics, and manage truck returns
- Ensure the shop is closed properly and stocked with necessary supplies
Marketing
- Build strategic partnerships with complementary businesses
- Represent the brand at networking events and professional organization meetings
- Support and lead the sales team in driving local awareness and customer acquisition
Finance
- Operate the business within budget parameters and track key metrics
- Review P&L monthly, identify trends, and share actionable insights with the leadership team
- Continuously identify opportunities for operational improvements based on financial data
- Monitor and manage expenses to align with financial goals
College HUNKS Moving Employment Requirements:
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Physical stamina and ability to lift & carry 75lbs
- Willing to submit pre-employment background check and drug screening
Position Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent/relevant experience
- 3 years of experience managing a service industry operation preferred
- Strong background in Sales, Marketing, and Operations/Systems Management
- Confident and proactive communicator; able to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and team members
- Proven ability to make informed, data-driven decisions and remain adaptable in dynamic environments
- Safety- and liability-conscious leader
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of developing and motivating teams
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels
- Self-disciplined and capable of operating independently with minimal supervision
Additional Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel and Outlook
- Bilingual: English and Spanish
- Moving & Storage industry experience
Compensation:
- $48,000 annually. Paid bi-weekly. Opportunities for incentives, commissions and bonus compensation
Benefits
- Paid-time-off (PTO) - 10 days per year
Schedule:
- 5 days per week, including Saturdays for initial 3 months
