Texas ICU Nursing Job Details

• Location: Kingwood, TX 77339 (Houston area)
• Healthcare Setting: Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU)
• Job Type: Locum tenens, travel nursing contract
• Start Date: August 11, 2025
• End Date: November 10, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Unit Size: 10 beds
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1460 - $1500

ICU RN Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
• Critical care training and clinical skills
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Proficient in pressor medication management, art line management, and critical drip management
• Adaptable and flexible personality for fast-paced healthcare environments

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill adults in the STICU
• Monitor and manage patients on CRRT, ventilators, MTP, Hemospheres, art lines, and TTM
• Administer and titrate critical drips and pressor medications
• Assist with bronchoscopy, central venous catheter (CVC), and arterial line insertion procedures
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to ICC, TCU, and ICU units as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to unit policies and attendance guidelines
