Billing Tech II
- Coordinates and monitors billing and collection activity on assigned payers and performs appeals on denied claims.
- Runs reports for assigned payers to assure timely collections.
- Determines proper payment and collections of charges from insurance payers.
- Files and maintains clerical records and reports pertinent to billing.
- Prepares summary of balance information related to refunds for approval by supervisor.
- Assist in billing claims & balancing payments.
- Maintain current knowledge of billing rules and regulations
- May assist with the training of others.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
Should have experience in claims processing, follow-up, appeals and collections. Should have some experience in general office work, bookkeeping & accounting. Education
Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of billing, with principles of collections and rules governing reimbursement.
- Skills in the use of a calculator, computer and other related office equipment.
- Ability to accurately perform numerical detail work and to follow instructions.
- Must be efficient and reliable and be able to meet the essential requirement of regular dependable attendance.
- Must have and maintain a level of general health which permits the performance of job duties and be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- This position requires extensive keyboarding and sitting for prolonged periods of time
