Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the preparation, handling, and shipment of products, as well as receiving and verifying incoming materials and supplies. This role requires working with minimal supervision while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with shipping and receiving procedures.

Job Description

• Prepare and ship products according to shipping orders, including completing bills of lading and related documentation
• Package materials appropriately using cushioning and protective materials to ensure safe transport
  
• Interpret packing specifications and determine container sizes based on measurements or technical drawings
  
• Select appropriate packing materials and hardware (e.g., nails, bolts, strapping)
  
• Fabricate wooden crates and apply required packaging materials
  
• Secure shipments using steel strapping and properly label or stencil crates with required information
  
• Verify package contents against shipping orders and accurately weigh shipments
  
• Maintain accurate shipping records and obtain necessary carrier documentation
  
• Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and weights against purchase orders
  
• Identify discrepancies and report issues on packing slips to the appropriate personnel
  
• Record received goods into the computer system using barcode scanners
  
• Print and apply barcode labels to incoming materials as needed
  
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and pallet trucks
  
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including shipping and receiving areas
  
• Perform additional related duties as assigned
• Shift: 8am - 5 pm

Skills Required

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in shipping, receiving, or manufacturing environments
• Experience assembling mechanical products is an asset
  
• Valid forklift (tow motor) operator license required
  
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED

Pay Rate

• $22 - $26 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
