Job Description
IED is a technology company specializing in the design and manufacture of advanced electronic control systems for renewable energy applications. With over three decades of innovation, we serve the photovoltaic, wind and agricultural automation sectors through our headquarters in Spain and subsidiaries in India, China, and the United States.
To support the growth of our newly established U.S. entity, we are seeking a Business Development Manager who will lead the commercial development of two key solution lines: our SUNNER control systems for solar trackers and our SUNNER Revamping Solutions for existing PV plants. This role combines strategic business development, customer engagement, and market activation responsibilities.
Role Description
As Business Development Manager – SUNNER Tracking Electronics and SUNNER Revamping Solutions, you will be responsible for leading IED’s commercial efforts in the U.S. solar market with strong connection to IED Global Business and HQ. Your mission will be twofold:

Develop the market for SUNNER control systems as best-in-class electronic solutions for solar single-axis trackers, facilitating integration with OEMs.
*
Develop the market for SUNNER Revamping Solutions, targeting operators and owners of PV plants in need of control system upgrades to optimize performance, reliability, or compliance.
This is a highly visible and impactful role that requires both strategic thinking and execution capabilities. You will interact closely with cross-functional teams in Spain and Asia, and contribute directly to shaping IED’s market presence in the United States.
Main Responsabilities
* Map and prioritize target segments in the U.S. utility-scale and DG solar markets, identifying OEMs, EPCs, asset managers, and operators aligned with IED’s offering.
* Lead the full business development process: prospecting, qualification, engagement, and conversion into commercial opportunities.
* Present IED’s value proposition to prospective customers, tailoring messaging to technical, operational, and financial stakeholders.
* Coordinate with internal engineering teams to prepare technical proposals and adaptation plans for OEMs and revamping clients.
* Develop commercial documentation, presentations, and demos that clearly articulate our product benefits in the U.S. context.
* Actively contribute to market feedback loops, helping refine the local go-to-market strategy based on insights from customers and partners.
* Represent IED in industry events, trade shows, and business development missions.

Compensation
Annual Base Salary:

Annual Bonus Plan:

Up to $40,000 USD, tied to lead generation, sales funnel development, and customer satisfaction across both SUNNER control systems and SUNNER Revamping Solutions.
This compensation structure is designed to reward initiative, measurable business development efforts, and the creation of strong, value-based relationships in the U.S. market.

We are looking for a market-oriented and business-driven professional, capable of connecting technology with client value, and of operating autonomously in a dynamic, cross-border environment.
Essential Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial project roles in the solar PV industry.
* Strong understanding of single-axis tracker systems, PV plant control architecture, and/or revamping needs in operational plants.
* Proven ability to develop B2B relationships and close deals with technical and commercial decision-makers.
* Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
Desirable Skills and Attributes
* Technical background (engineering, power electronics, automation, or similar).
* Previous experience working with tracker manufacturers or in PV retrofit projects.
* Professional proficiency in Spanish is highly valued, given the international nature of internal collaboration.
