Location: Irving, Texas
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $35.56–$38.10 per hour
• Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | 8-hour shifts
• Full-time, temp-to-perm (W2)
• Start Date: March 2, 2026
ROLE IMPACT
This role ensures accurate, compliant outpatient coding that directly supports timely reimbursement and clean claims. Success is defined by maintaining a 95% or higher coding accuracy rate while meeting productivity standards across multiple outpatient encounter types. The coder partners with clinical and revenue cycle teams to resolve documentation gaps and reduce denials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes in accordance with official guidelines
• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results for completeness and accuracy
• Abstract and enter required data into electronic medical record systems
• Manage assigned coding queues and account statuses, including held accounts
• Achieve or exceed a 95% coding accuracy rate and chart-based productivity standards
• Query providers for missing or unclear documentation in collaboration with HIM and CDI teams
• Participate in internal and external coding audits
• Communicate effectively and work independently in a remote environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of outpatient coding experience in a primary care or radiology setting
• Active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or AHIMA credential required (verification required upon submission)
CLINICAL SKILL SET
• Outpatient coding for primary care and radiology
• ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines
• Provider office visits, labs, therapeutic services, ED encounters, observation, ambulatory surgery
• EMR navigation and data abstraction
• Ethical coding standards (AHIMA)
• Audit participation and denial resolution workflows
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work with minimal supervision in a remote role
